Chapter 01  —  Hello

I photograph the lived-in moments.

The slightly-too-loud laugh. The way she leans in. The light through the back door at 4:47 pm. Those are the ones I’m after — the in-betweens that turn into the keepers.

I’ve been making photographs around the Lowcountry for years, and what I love hasn’t changed: real people, in real light, doing the thing they actually do.
